Home Made Diples (Thin Pastry Dipped in Honey) 2pieces
Homemade Diples (Thin Pastry Dipped in Honey) - 2 pieces
If you like the combination of a crispy, delicate pastry that seems to never end, then this is the dessert for you! Diples (pronounced THEE-pless) (thiples, theeples) are traditional sweets of the Peloponnese region of Greece, made of thin, sheet-like dough. They get their name from the Greek word meaning “fold." The dough is rolled into long, thin strips, fried and hand-folded in hot oil, then dipped into a honey syrup. These hand-made delicacies are lovingly prepared by our Greek artisans using a generations-old family recipe.
Each piece is approximately 7 to 8 inches long.
Ingredients: flour, eggs, baking powder, honey, vanilla, salt and water.
