Kaseri (kasseri) has a mild, salty taste. It is used as a table cheese, in cheese-pastries, sandwiches and as the main ingredient in making saganaki, a fried Greek appetizer.
Moisture: max 43%, Fat D.M.:min 40%
Ingredients: pasteurized milk, salt, rennet.

RECIPE FOR SAGANAKI - fried kaseri cheese
Serves: 4.
Ingredients:
1 whole egg
1/4 c. flour
1/2 lb. kaseri cheese
the juice of one whole lemon
Directions:
Beat egg in a bowl. Place flour on a plate.
Dip piece of cheese in the egg, then roll in flour.
In a frying pan heat butter, frying the cheese until flour coating is golden.
Squeeze the juice of a lemon on top of cheese before removing it from the pan. Serve immediately (excellent hot).
